Comments: Plane and Solid Analytic Geometry, by Harvard mathematics professors William F. Osgood and William C. Graustein, is a classic textbook, still in demand by college students even though it was first published in 1921. This copy is a first edition, though a later printing produced by The Macmillan Company in 1937. The text block is tight and square, and there are no tears, folds, or missing pages, but a number of pages are marked with small pencil checkmarks next to the exercises. There is some brown staining on both the front and back end papers, possibly from the glue attaching the papers to the boards, and the inside front cover also shows the signs of where a book plate has been removed. However, the hinges and joints are solid and show no signs of damage. The book has been bound in dark brown cloth. There is a blind stamped border around the front cover. The text and decorative bands on the spine appear to have been stamped in gilt that is now badly tarnished and faded. The there is some minor shelf wear on the spine and slight bumping on the corners, but the binding is otherwise in very good condition.
